This website and who runs it

tankcleaningservices.co.uk is operated for Tank Cleaning Services. These Terms of Service cover every visit to the site: browsing it, submitting information through it and any other use of it. You give your agreement to them when you use the site, send an enquiry or ask for a supplier introduction.

This website is operated by Tank Cleaning Services. Our contact address is Suite 114b Business First, Davyfield Road, Blackburn, Lancashire BB1 2QY.

The website itself offers enquiry forms, contact routes and general service information. That information is general only. It is not:

  • engineering or environmental advice;
  • health and safety or waste-classification advice;
  • regulatory or legal advice; or
  • insurance or tax advice.

Where a job requires advice of that sort, you should obtain it from the appointed supplier or from a competent professional. We try to keep the content clear and useful, although we do not promise that every page is complete, current or suitable for every site, and guidance, laws, operational requirements and supplier availability may change.

Any part of the website may be changed, withdrawn, suspended or updated by us at any time, and there is no guarantee that the enquiry forms, email routes, telephone lines, supplier-matching process or the website as a whole will always be available or uninterrupted.

Supplier introductions and quotes

Tank Cleaning Services acts as a connector. After you submit details we may review them and pass them on to a third-party service provider, supplier or contractor which, in our view, may be a suitable fit for the work described. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, we do not:

  • attend site as the appointed contractor;
  • carry out the physical work;
  • operate plant or equipment;
  • transport waste; or
  • provide regulated tank, cleaning, disposal, drainage, silo or industrial services ourselves through this website.

Cost to you. Customers pay nothing to send an enquiry through this website or to be introduced to a supplier, so there is no cost to you for either. Suppliers or third-party companies may pay us commission, marketing fees, referral income or sales income. That commercial arrangement adds no website-use fee for you.

What an introduction does not promise. Each introduction draws on whatever information is available at the time it is made. We do not guarantee that the price a supplier quotes will meet your expectations, that the job can be completed in a particular timescale, or that a supplier will be available or accept the job. We may also use your details to judge which supplier seems a good fit, but that does not make it the cheapest supplier, the only suitable supplier or the best supplier in every circumstance. Whether to instruct a supplier is your decision, and you remain responsible for it.

Quotes and contracts. Any booking, call-out, estimate, quotation, order, site visit, supply contract or service contract is between you and the supplier unless we expressly state otherwise in writing. Before work is authorised, you must read the supplier’s own terms and agree to them. Control over the following sits with the appointed supplier:

  • prices and minimum charges;
  • waste charges and disposal routes;
  • permit requirements;
  • attendance windows and emergency call-out arrangements;
  • cancellation terms; and
  • any additional work.

If a supplier reviews the site and the scope then changes, the supplier may decline the work or change its quotation.

Emergencies and out-of-hours tank problems. We are normally open Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm, and out of hours we may be available for emergency work where a suitable supplier is able to respond. An emergency enquiry is not a guarantee of immediate attendance. While you are waiting for a supplier’s response, you should take appropriate safety, environmental and site-control steps.

Information you give

You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness and currency of the information you give when you contact us or a supplier. That information includes known contamination, the waste description and quantities, hazards, confined-space concerns, height or lifting constraints, access limits, the site address, drainage layout, photographs and any deadline that affects the work.

When a supplier has been introduced, you must supply what that supplier needs in order to assess health and safety, environmental risk, site access and the scope of the job. This may include:

  • tank or drainage plans;
  • Safety Data Sheets and waste codes;
  • previous survey results;
  • permit information;
  • photographs;
  • induction requirements, parking arrangements and any site-specific rules.

A supplier may refuse to proceed if the information provided does not match site conditions, if required documentation is missing, if there is a safety concern, or if the work falls outside its competence, insurance or permissions.

You must not submit information that is false, misleading, unlawful or abusive, confidential third-party information without authority, or information you do not have permission to share. Nor may you use the website in any way that interferes with its operation or attempts to gain unauthorised access to supplier information, data or systems.

We may use the contents of an enquiry you send to reply to you and to introduce it to a suitable supplier. Personal information is covered in more detail by the Privacy Policy and the Cookies Policy, both linked from this website.

Responsibility and liability

Third-party suppliers are independent businesses, not employees of Tank Cleaning Services. The supplier appointed for the work is responsible for its own:

  • risk assessments and method statements;
  • staff, equipment and vehicles;
  • licences, permits and insurance;
  • site attendance and work quality;
  • quotations and advice;
  • consignment documentation and waste transfer documentation; and
  • aftercare.

Before instructing a supplier, you should check its credentials and terms.

Unless the law says we cannot exclude that responsibility, we are not responsible for a supplier’s waste handling, regulatory compliance, pricing, documentation, staff conduct, work quality, advice, acts, omissions, delays, damage or loss. Should an issue arise after you instruct a supplier, you should take it up with that supplier directly and as soon as possible. Investigating and resolving issues connected with the supplier’s attendance, quotation, aftercare or work is the supplier’s responsibility.

These terms do not exclude or limit our liability where doing so would be unlawful. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to that, our role is limited to running the website and, where appropriate, making introductions.

After an introduction, we are not legally responsible for claims, costs, damage, delays, losses or disputes arising between you and a third-party supplier, including those relating to the supplier’s advice, attendance, payment terms, contract terms, service quality or work.

The legal small print

Intellectual property. Ownership of, or a licence to, the website’s text, page layouts, design, logos, branding and other materials rests with the relevant rights holder. You may view pages and print them for internal decision-making of your own. Copying, scraping, republishing, selling or reusing substantial parts of the website without permission is not allowed.

Changes to these terms. From time to time we may update these terms. Whenever you use the website, the version then published on this page applies, and by carrying on with the website after changes are published you accept the updated terms.

Governing law. The laws of England and Wales govern these terms, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, unless consumer protection law gives you a mandatory right to use another court.

Questions. If you have a question about this website or these terms, please get in touch using the details published on our Contact page. Questions about work carried out by a supplier should go to the supplier directly first, because the supplier controls the quotation, the work and the aftercare.
