Fuel treatment and cleaning results
Fuel retained for use should be assessed separately from tank-bottom water and sludge. Fuel polishing may treat removable contamination in circulated diesel, but it does not clean every surface or sheltered deposit.
Follow-up testing should address the original fuel concern and be interpreted for the sample location and time. The cleaning result should describe the deposits and areas actually treated.
Preventing new water ingress
Removing current deposits does not stop new water entering the system. Fill points, covers and other possible ingress routes may need maintenance if they are contributing to the problem.

Does clear-looking diesel mean the tank is clean?
No. Water and sediment may be concentrated at the bottom or in isolated pockets. Appearance at one sampling point does not describe the entire tank.
Will tank cleaning cure repeated filter blockage?
It can address a source of contamination, but filters can block for other reasons. Fuel testing and checks of the connected system may also be needed.
Can water get back into a cleaned diesel tank?
Yes. The source of ingress or accumulation needs attention alongside cleaning. Covers, fill arrangements and the storage system should be checked as appropriate.
Can fuel polishing replace diesel tank cleaning?
Not where water, sludge or deposits remain outside the fuel circulation path. Polishing treats circulated fuel; tank cleaning addresses material retained in the vessel.
Can baffles or low points retain contamination after normal pumping?
Yes. Tank geometry can leave water or sludge beyond the normal draw-off, which is why a low fuel level does not prove the bottom is clear.
